Deftones are just about to head out on tour AND they are offering a new song, Leathers, as a limited-time free download. You can only get it at deftones.com.

The song is the first off the soon to be released record, Koi No Yokan, which comes out November 13, 2012.

Deftones still rock. They have been doing it for almost 20 years without a hint of suckiness. Their last record, Diamond Eyes, was as good as anything they have ever released. If you don’t believe me google all the great reviews.

Bad Books is poised to release their second record, inventively titled, II, on October 9, 2012. The group is a collaboration between Kevin Devine and Manchester Orchestra. You can pre-order the record HERE. You can also check out the latest single from the group, It Never Stops, below.

Wild Belle, a sibling duo out of Chicago, have just signed to Columbia Records. The two have a slew of musical influences from pop to reggae to jazz and beyond. Check out the video, It’s Too Late, below to get an idea of where they are coming from.

Wild Belle are also heading out on tour some dates with Tennis.

Glocca Morra are apparently  Type A personalities. They are on the move, they get things done. They are not part of Mitt Romney's 47% of the nation that are deadbeat moochers. Earlier this summer they released their debut full length, Just Married. Now, a scant three months later, they are back with a six song EP, An Obscure Moon Lighting An Obscure World. The EP comes out October 16.

The band is also appearing at Fest in Gainesville (Go Gators) and some other gigs including one at CMJ. You can check the dates out below. You can also check out See Through Person, the first song off the new EP as well.

Fort Lean has a new self-released digital EP coming October 30. The EP is entitled Change Your Name and the always interesting Patrick Wimberly from Chairlift produced. Check out the video for their track, Sunsick, below.

Elska has a new video for the track, Arctic Fox. Chec it out below. The song is off the debut Elska album,  Middle of Nowhere (out now). Elska is a collaboration between performance artist, Shelley Wollert and stop-motion animator, Andy Biddle. Wollert channels the character “Elska.”

The video was shot in London with scenes on location in Iceland. This is pop art for the whole family. Watch it with your little ones. Also check out shows below.

The Governors Ball Music Festival is getting bigger with more bands, performance areas and other stuff. Next year's festival will take place June 8 and 9, 2011 in Randall's Island Park. It is a little early to expect bands but the music ranges from indie to electronic to hip hip, pop, rock and more. This past year's bands were an impressive and eclectic line up.

I also like to get releases like this NOW. It sucks when they come in May for a June festival. Who can make it on such short notice who doesn't live nearby. So keep your eyes and ears open for more announcements and get tickets early. Last year the festival sold out.

It isn't just music. There is art, games, food (not hot dogs...actual food), craft beer, wine etc. It is also nice that festivals are figuring out grown-ups go too.

Anna Haas’ debut record, the physical version, is available now.  Crazy Is, came out September 18. Haas is a native of Nashville which she left in 2003 to study acting and dance at Emerson College in Boston. She worked on dance, art and singing while there and then made her way to New York City.

Rush Midnight is the solo project of Russ Manning. Manning was formerly bassist for Twin Shadow. I confess to having no idea who Twin Shadow are or were. But I miss things sometimes. Check out the video for the track, The Night Was Young Enough, below and tour dates below that.

The EP, entitled +1, comes out October 30, 2012.

Manning is apparently a formally trained jazz musician but we will not hold that against him.

We wrote about JAN earlier. Kim Talon of Eagle and Talon’s alter ego and new musical project. She has a new video for her track, Work For The City. As you might expect you can find it below. The eponymous debut album comes out November 13. That recording was produced by John Goodmanson who has also worked with Sleater-Kinney, Blonde Readhead and The Gossip.
