The New Media Film Festival’s two day event will be held at the Los Angeles Film School’s new state-of-the-art facility. The Fest takes place May 20-21, 2011.
The festival brings together professionals with aspiring film makers working in a variety of categories. This year these will include Mobile, Web Series, Shorts, Animation, iApps, Documentaries, Features, Socially Responsible Content, Audience Choice Awards (Online Competition for Web Series), Music Videos, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Digital Comics and projects shot in RED or 3D. The deadline for entries is April 15, 2011. You can find categories at www.newmediafilmfestival.com. The festival is also looking for sponsors. You can find out more on this HERE. The New Media Festival brings professionals and creative types together. In addition to screenings there are panel discussion, demos of new technology, financing (always important) and much more. The 5th Annual NYC Food Film Fest announced last week its call for entries for 2011. The deadline is February 22, 2011. The categories include Best Feature-Length, Short, Super-Short and a new edition, Best Food Porn (I have a submission for this one but I may have trouble getting the releases signed). There are also Made in New York and Food Filmmaker of the Year awards.
The festival will be held in June, 2011. The Chicago version of the festival, just over a few weeks back, was sold out. This unique festival is worth keeping an eye on. I kick myself for not going to the most recent one. To get accepted? You have to have a film that celebrates food. Genres range from documentary, animation, narrative, instructional and…food porn. There was no clarification offered as to that so. I am thinking of starting a Booze Film Fest totally dedicated to booze. The deadline is "whenever you sober up." You can find a submission form (to the Food Film Fest, not the Booze Film Fest) at www.nycfoodfilmfestival.com |
