Tessier's work is casein on aluminum panels. They are personal, unique pieces. The works mix humor and gravitas and are often set in mundane surroundings.
Casein is an interesting medium. It is a paint made from milk protein that is water soluble. It was often used like gouache so it is somewhat hard to figure as paint to use on aluminum (although it apparently isn't uncommon).
