South Korean artist, Yujin Lee, has a new show opening at Morgen Contemporary (ACKERSTR. 162 10115 BERLIN). Chronos and Kairos opens April 24 and runs until June 1, 2013. There will be a reception with the artist from 7 to 10 p.m., Wednesday, Apil 24.
The focus of the exhibit is how different cultures react to natural catastrophes. Lee composes large scale pencil drawings of clouds and smoke. When you first look at these pieces it is difficult to ascertain what these are drawings of--are they clouds, are they explosions. It almost mimics a human reaction to a rea event. The exhibit also includes chalk drawings and prints with the same subject matter.
