Mandala #10
Ye Hongxing's work (the work shown here anyway) are crystal sticker collages on canvas. They sparkle, they seem to have a light in themselves. Often when art "sparkles" it seems like a gimmick but it is integral here. These works were shown by Art Lexing (Miami). She is an artist whose work you can always spot from across the room--utterly distinctive.
As usual the photos do no justice. The included video gives a SLIGHTLY better idea. Something interesting in the video;it was shot with autophocus and the lighting was (gasp!!!) actually adjusted to the space but it just wouldn't focus on one single thing. This is the best of several videos. The human eye and brain reacts to the artist's work in much the same way. It is difficult to focus on the pieces that make up the whole.
