Woman on a bike Women, recent paintings by Derek Marks, are to be show at The Stone Space Gallery (6 Church Lane, Leystonstone, London) from November 29 through December 15. There will be a private viewing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday November 28, 2013.
The paintings are of women engaged in the tasks and motions of everyday life; riding a bike, taking a walk, etcetera. Each painting is based on numerous drawings made from life. Marks didn't create these pieces to get across some philosophical point. These are not any sort of political stand but just paintings about living.
