Travis Somerville's work deals with race relations and was featured by Birmingham, Alabama's Beta Pictoris (2411 Second Avenue North, Birmingham, AL) at Art Miami New York. In a sense Somerville picks at these old wounds and repurposes iconic images--keeping in mind that "iconic" doesn't always mean good or pleasant.
