Hefuna's Notations features 25 drawings frst shown at The Drawing Center in New York last year. This work shows her fascination with architecture forms, maps and structural and cultural codes. She is originally from Cairo and was raised in both Germany and Egypt. Her work is held in the collections of numerous prestigious museums.
Schutter's exhibit, What Is Not Clear Is Not French, deals with forms of French painting from the 1600s through the mid 1800s. The works are not any sort of homage but a way of creating understanding of continued expectations tht paintings have historical values. The sources for this work include an illustrated manual from the French Academy for the mid 1600s.
