Stanislav Szukalski, an oft forgotten Polish master, of sculpture, drawing and more will be the subject of an exhibition at Varnish Fine Art, 16 Jessie Street, #C120, San Francisco. There will be an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday May 5.
Works shown will include bronze sculpture, never before 2-D works such as original conte and pen & ink drawings. Unfortunately a great deal of his early works were destroyed during the siege of Warsaw or during the Nazi occupation. Fortunately he returned to the USA and continued to work until he passed away in 1987.
