Sheila McInerney’s Invisible Connections, an exhibit of new mixed media art, is coming to Octavia Gallery, 4532 Magazine Street, New Orleans from, April 7 through the 28th. There will be a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 7.
McInerney’s work has been exhibited nationally and in 2011 became a member of The National Collage Society where she exhibited her work (including being selected for their 2011-12 Online exhibition). The Museum of Modern Art’s PSI studio visit website also features her work.
The work consists of dyed, bleached, painted, stained and/or inked papers—as well as use of fabric and paper transfers and watercolor an acrylic paint. You might notice thread (vintage) and wine bottle caps.
