Sebastião Salgado shows 50 Photos from Genesis series at Sundaram Tagore (5 Lock Road, 01-05 Gillman Barracks, Singapore, 108933) from May 20 to July 6, 2014. Salgado is one of the world's most important photographers and these black and white images are part of his first solo gallery show in Singapore.
The series began eight years ago and include photos of ruins, landscapes, wildlife, all untouchd by our modern world.
Salgado's work is held in the permanent collections of the Chicago Art Institute, the Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He runs a nonprofit (Instituto Terra) with his wife, Lélia Wanick Salgado, dedicated to enviromental education and restoration in Brazil (this is something the entire world can than them for).
