Raster Raster, a group exhibit runs from February 22 to April 12, 2014 At Aran Cravey Gallery (6918 Melrose Ave. Los Angeles). Arists include; Conor Backman, Petra Cortright, Alexandra Gorczynski, Marc Horowitz, Christine Sun Kim, Mehreen Murtaza, Jayson Musson, Bunny Rogers, Travess Smalley, Jasper Spicero and Artie Vierkant. There will be an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, February 22 and a panel discussion on the same day from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The exhibition is curated by artist and media theorist, Marisa Olson. Work included ranges from painting to sculpture to textiles to video-embedded digital prints (and more). Subject matter varies as well. The exhibit title crosses the exhortation "faster faster" with the process of Rasterizing--scanning an image before presentation. The exhibit is a sort of scan of the contemporary artistic landscape.
