The opening takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, September 7.
The exhibition is an exploration of form and concept through the juxtaposition of materials with opposing qualities. The hard, the heavy seem soft and light while the fibrous and flexible appears solid. The materials contract limestone and paper.
Safir, from France but living in Miami, was the subject of a Mapanare Miami Art Week interview a few years ago. She works in both stone and fiberglass. Hague, also living in Miami, holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Book and Paper Arts from Columbia College (Chicago).
