Peter Alexander's The Color of Light runs At Brian Gross Fine Art (248 Utah St., San Francisco) from May 3 to July 3, 2014. There will be a reception for the artist from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 3.
Alexander is based in Los Angeles and the works shown here are in cast resin wall sculptures.. He is also a painter and installation artist. These atmospheric urethane works have a glow to them and are in both 2D and 3D forms. There is a reference to water and the shoreline in these works. Previously he has worked in polyester resin before moving into painting.
Alexander is a L.A. native and holds a BFA and MFA from UCLA.
