New Nature— Plural runs opens July 12 and runs til August 23, 2013 at Public Works Gallery (1539 N. Damen Ave. 2nd Floor, Chicago). There will be an opening reception from 7 to 10 p.m.Friday, July 12.
The exhibit explores the relationship between us humans and digital tools using interaction with electronic devices. The pieces here are installations that offer varying experiences with technology. The gallery will be lit only with the light from the digital works themselves. It isn't just about what is ON the screen but these devices themselves.
Plural, a studio, produce work with a conceptual foundation who have worked with a slew of Chicago cultural institutions: DePaul Art Museum, University of Chicago ArtsLyric Opera of Chicago, MDW Fair and Public Life, Document Space, and Volume Gallery.
