Anyone who loves food already considers food to be art. It IS art. Artist, Madal, has made food literally into art. Has it been done by others here and there? Probably but other people have painted too. This is her spin on “food as art” and both the art and presentation was impressive.
Madal was born in Berisso, Argentina. Her education background is in arts (unsurprisingly) and art education.
One thing you can do that is always rewarding in Miami (if you are not stabbed) is to wander around in Wynwood and nearby areas looking for street artists, parties, galleries, places to have a beer, entertaining psychopaths etcetera. I am kidding about the stabbing part (sort of) but a few years back I would not have been. But during Art Basel Week? Lots of people, authority figures and a positive vibe.

These pieces were displayed above the items used to make the art: oranges, coffee, rice, and grain. Likewise a patio in the real featured works in a more “street art” vein from Madal. Part of the aesthetic appeal was the kitchen environment incorporating the works. There was a subtlety there. You could have walked in and seen just a kitchen—at a glance. Upon even a cursory further look you would see not only the art pieces themselves but the display of the “media” displayed below.
