Risus Sativus Carlos Castro's Risus Sativas (2011) is a music box that "plays a Cruzade war melody." The knives you see were confiscated by the Bogata police. His work was show by La Galeria-Arte Contemporaneo (Bogata).
Castro's work combines many media--painting, sculpture, installation and video. He often uses found objects (confiscated knives, dead dogs) in his work. His work has an iconoclastic quality. Perhaps not "iconoclastic" but rather he points out how our icons have been reidentified by modern society.
