Kasher/Potamkin (New York) showed work by Maurizio Galante at Miami Project 2014. If you know the name Galante you are probably wearing a pair of $800 shoes (or you want to own a pair).
That is my smart-assed way of noting that Galante is a well known--celebrated--fashion designer. This work isn't the bridge between fashion design and art that you might expect on the surface. Yet when you learn what it is? Your mind will change. The piece is a hand embroidered parrot figurine with feathers consisting of six layers of silk organza separated by glass beads.
