The exhibit, a solo show by the artist, and deals with the representation of objects, the consiousness of matter and the secret nature of "things."
The works range from sculpture to the image with a focus on abstractions of basic, primordial materials such as clay, rocks and algae; de Joode's work often features clay. De Joode, from the Netherlands originally, lives in Berlin and is a visiting scholar at the University of Cincinnati.
