The exhibit features new drawings by the artist—some of the most complex he has ever done. His work is always painstakingly detailed and beautiful. The black and white works are the result of a detailed progression. Stashkevetch begins by sanding away the surface of the paper and the builds up the image with conte crayon which bonds to the paper creates an ethereal an atmospheric effect.
The works are large in scale.
Stashkevetch, from the USA, studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. His work is in collections such as the Dallas Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
