Preus will transform the interior of the center by making a large structure out of various "harvested" materials; discarded wood, furniture from closed Chicago Public Schools, upholstery leather and many other odds and end. The area will be an artist-run space through the exhibits total run. There will be a number of performances, discussions and more offered in the space (programming by the artist and/or collaborators).
Preus is well known as the main designer/builder for the Dorchester Projects' Archive House and the lead fabricator for Theaster Gates. He is the founder of Dilettante Studios which designs cabinetry and furniture--largely created from "used" materials.
