This year another vow was to try to avoid covering the same galleries as always. But it turns out there is a reason to return to wonderful galleries like John Berggruen Gallery; they show striking pieces like David Bates' Pearl Blosson With Shell (right) and Christopher Brown's Railyard (below).

The Railyard is one that, for certain, will make you stop and look twice. It is very....American. I want to sing an Arlo Guthrie song when I even think of it (hell maybe even a Woody Guthrie song). That is, by the way, a compliment.
