John Airo's Blue, an exhibition of paintings, opens January 26, 2014 at Big Hair (2012 West Roscoe) in Chicago. There will be an opening reception from 4 to 8 p.m.
Airo's paintings often, but not exclusively, deal with the city of Chicago. You get a real feel for the city and is neighborhoods (at least the Northside) via these works. Airo often paints on surfaces he finds walking about in the city--wood, cardboard, etcetera. If you buy a piece of his art you are getting a piece, as well as an image, of the city.
