Salazar, from Mexico, lives in Northern California. Many artist's statements are complicated (some might say convoluted) but Salazar takes a different route. On the gallery page it says simply that he wants to honestly explore emotion in his paintings, drawings and mixed media work. It is refreshing to see that genuine expression of an artist's goals.
Hirshfield, from the San Francisco Bay area, attended the University of Californa Davis. You can see the influence of the figurative painters from the area. Her work strives to connect with the people, animals and objects in the work.
