Hazavei is a teacher, scientist, scholar and artist who is known for (obviously) a multi-faceted career. His art has references from carpet-weaving folk art and Persian calligraphy to European/American abastract expressionism. He attended both Tehran University's Fine Arts College, Columbia University and NYU. He olds a PhD in Art education from Columbia.
The exhibit itself will show two aspects of his work--his paintings and his sculptures.
The exhibit's name comes from the Farsi expression (Sim-e-Akhar) describing the final chord of a symphony or a gambler throwing his last cash on the table--a joyful act of bravado.
