Galleri Bo Bjerggaard (Copehagen) had work by a number of Danish artists at Expo Chicago--including perhaps the best known contemporary artist from that country, Per Kirkeby.
Kirkeby has a degree in--wait for it--arctic geology. At the time he was studying for this degree he was already an artist. It seems a fascinating choice for a major. His work is in the collections of Museum of Modern Art (NYC), the Tate Gallery, the Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC) and many others.
Per Bak Jensen is a photographer. He is known for never manipulating his images. There is no computer trickery in the pieces below. He is a former professor at the Danish Academy of Fine Arts and, like Kirkeby, has work at the Museum of Modern Art (NYC), the Metropolitan Museum and also at Bibliothéque Nationale (Paris).
