The artist works in a variety of materials, clay, wood, plywood and plaster. She often combines these materials to create tension (or harmony) as the piece
requires. Salihu rhythmically repeats round and square elements creating a irreconcilable link between the overall form and the "ompound segments." You will notice forms reminicsent of architecuture and design in these pieces as well as hints of the natural world (think hives and nexts).
This exhibit comes at the same time as the first extensive monograph of Salihu's work (published by Kerber Verlag).
