Miami: The Art Bagel Edition. Bagels may well be involved when the fair opens at the historic Blue Moon Hotel. It truly is in the midst of the Art Deco district.
The fair was curated by Fontsquared (aka Ignacio and Jean Font). Their curation for the fair aims to create a uniform work of art out of the various artists involved via form, shape, form and color.
Fair director, Eric Ginsburg, is also an artist and his animal portraits are a staple of fairs past. You can check out an extensive interview with him about the 2015 fair HERE. This fair isn't about what they did last year, the year before or in New York City. One new part of the fair this year is the Fridge Magnet Project.
Everyone is invited (all of you, all attendees) to create a magnet to be displayed during the fair. All the details can be found HERE. The fair will include a video lounge in the hotel courtyard and a Fridge bazaar, The Miami Bagel Bazaar Marketplace. As always the fair is working in support of animal causes (usually Ginsburg paints small portraits of your pets with the proceeds benefiting a charity). This year Fridge is working with Abandoned Pet Rescue, a big problem in South Florida.
The fair ends with the Clean the Fridge, Bagel Meet-and-Greet Brunch from 10 to 11 a.m., Sunday December 10. Artists will be on hand and the public is invited.
