Somehow I missed Francis Alys Untitled when I posted other pieces from Mary-Anne Martin Fine Art. This piece is signed and inscribed verso oil on plastic over oil on canvas on masonite.
This is possibly because the reflection on another piece by this fine artist (titled Noe--below) had an even worse reflection marring the image than this untitled piece to the right. Noe is oil paint on found masonite wrapped in plastic.
Alys is a Belgian-born artist who works out of Mexico City. His work ranges from painting to performance to video art. You can check out some of his video work at www.francisalys.com.
