Photo by Mary Hilliard. The Foundation for Art and Preservation in Embassies (FAPE) has announced a gift by David Rubenstein. Rubenstein, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of the Carlyle Group, has presented a number of limited edition reproductions of the 1823 Stone Declaration of Independence. One will be installed in every U.S. embassy worldwide.
The first of these reproductions was presented by Rubenstein to Secretary of State John Kerry and FAPE's Joe Carole Lauder on Apil 29, 2013. Rubenstein was presented that evening with the Leonore and Walter Annenberg Award for Diplomacy through the Arts.

An original engraving of the Declaration of Independence and its original frame will be replicated for each American Embassy worldwide, courtesy of David M. Rubenstein.
