Emmanuel Barcilon's On the Edge of Visibility is set to run at Rosefeld Porcini (37 Rathbone St. London) from February 19 to April 2, 2016. The opening runs from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Thursday, February 18.
The artist, a native of Paris who still lives and works in the city, takes a long time to create these pieces. Some take as
long as a year. He initially pours color over a wooden support, sands it and reworks it many times. Each coat never completely covers the one underneath. A "memory" of each layer remains (and sometimes little more than that).
