New York). There will be a reception 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013.
This is the artist’s third solo exhibition at Rare. It is made up of 3D objects and wall relief paintings. The show examines, as Fragias’ previous work, the concurrent tendency of humanity to both create and destroy.
The sculptures use contemporary objects to refer to past myth. The past is illustrated and highlighted as are humanity’s cyclical tendencies. The chain of connections woven through history—from myth to current physical objects-- come together in this work.
