Di Donna Galleries (New York) showed work by Leonor Fini At Art Basel Miami Beach 2018.
Fini was an Argentine-born (she grew up in Italy) painter know for depicting strong female characters in her work. Like many women artists of her era (born in 1907) she only received her due after her death. It is something that should appall but it was a common occurence for women artists who were truly masters. In Fini's case she also was from South America which was also, until fairly recently, an area that did not get its due in the art world.
She was a painter, designer and illustrator. Her designs included product design.
