David Hockney's 1991 work, The One With The Fire, is one of the most beautiful, striking paintings I've ever seen. The work was shown by Richard Gray Gallery (Chicago/New York). Mr. Gray was sitting there and when I walked back to look again I told him it was one of the most lovely paintings I'd ever seen. He told me I was not the first person who had said that.
