Rieger, from Maine, has lived and worked in numerous cities in the USA and Europe. Her work searches for purpose and meaning. It has a strong narrative component. She was awarded the Southern Arts Federation Visual Arts Fellowship (National Endowment for the Arts) in 1987. Her work has been shown at Rhona Hoffman Gallery, Chicago. Villamil, from Cuba, paints on ceramics and creates a kaleidoscopic maelstrom in his work. The designs are colorful, and like Rieger, the are narrative. He is currently being exhibited at Archbishop John C. Favalora Archive & Museum.
