Enkell uses what the release desrcribes as the 'ambiguity of the symbol' in his works. Basically this refers to how a symbol means different things in different cultures. His work also bears a superficial version of tantric iconography.
The artst is one of Finland's most significant artists, known for his writing as well has his art. His work is held in numerous public and private collections.
