Dupont, from Tacoma, Washington, creates text-based paintings with an eye on how visual information is conveyed and/or distorted within abstract painting. Found text, including poetry, tweets and other writings all make appearances in
his work. The artist currently lives in Brooklyn and received an MFA in painting from Cornell.
Steele's work, mechanical, mathematical and architectural in nature showcase the "exacting and intellectual pursuit of ideas arising from post-minimalism." He used different techniques of drawing, lettering and mark-making in works on
paper. Steele was born in Caracas, grew up in Rio de Janeiro and received his BFA from the School of Visual Arts and his MFA from RISD.
