Antonio Columbo Arte Contemporanea (Via Solferino 44 20121, Milan) is set to present On the Border, a "double solo" show featuring work by Marta Sesana and Carlos Donjuan. The show runs from February 13 to March 23, 2014. The theme of "on the border" joins together two artists from different parts of the world but whose work has a similar atmosphere. Both also strive with coming to grips with one of the most significant questions in modern art--Can you create paintings that are figurative but are still in step with the times?
Donjuan, originally fro Mexico and living in Texas, studied at the University of Texas at San Antonio. His pieces make extensive references to street art. Sesana is from Merate, Italy and lives and works in Milan. She studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. She creates models of what she depicts in her paintings using wire, newsprint and clay. There is something hallucenatory about the work
