Ilaria Del Monte's Out Of This World runs March 20 To April 30, 2014. The exhibit is presented by Antonio Colombo (Via Solferino 44 20121 Milano) in Little Circus, the space in the gallery dedicated to special projects. There will be an opening at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20.
We first ran into the Italian gallery at Aqua Miami Beach. Del Monte's work seems to fit like a glove to their aesthetic. There is a dreamlike quality here but also realistic elements. she shows idealized interiors with nature intruding, claiming back its own. The artist is a native of Taranto and currently splits time between Milan and Matera. She has a degree in painting for the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan.
