Ai Weiwei's solo exhibition Rebar - Lucerne, opens Saturday October 27, 2012 at Galerie Urs Meile in Lucerne. The exhibit will run until January 13, 2013. There will be an opening on October 27 from 4 to 7 p.m.
The exhibition consists of a series of works related to the terrible earthquake that devastated the Sichuan province in May, 2008. Tens of thousands of people were injured or killed. Many will remember the thousands of children buried under collapsed school buildings.
Weiwei helped organize, online, people to help identify children who were killed. These works were created out of this great tragedy. This is the first time they will be exhibited. Visitors are welcome but you do need to schedule an appointment.
