Stars, a collection of frighteningly busy musicians, release their fifth record ,The Five Ghosts, on June 22. This recording is the first since 2007’s, In Our Bedroom After The War and features producer Tom McFall,back with the band for the first time since their break-out record, Set Yourself On Fire (2005). The band’s first effort was Nightsongs, way back in 2001. Stars is made up of: Amy Millan, Evan Cranley, Torquil Campbell, Patty McGee and Chris Seligman. Guesting on the CD is Andrew Whiteman of Broken Social Scene.
As to the "busy-ness" of the band: Both Millan and Cranley have been performing/touring members of Broken Social Scene, Millan has two solo CDs, Campbell has a side project known as Dead Star Child and also plays in the band, Memphis. Seriously, when do these folks find the time to take a crap?
