Joe Jackson is releasing a live record, Live Music, on June 7. The record is of Jackson’s 2010 European tour. The record is 12 tracks taken from the sound board in various cities on the tour. Jackson is no stranger to live records, this is his sixth. The first appeared in 1986.
I was going to use the whole "Joe Jackson Is Stepping Out With A New Live Record." I am really glad I didn't do that.
In addition to Jackson’s own iconic tunes he covers some classics by other artists on this live record. The covers include Girl by The Beatles, Scary Monsters by David Bowie and inbetweenies by Ian Dury. This record has no overdubs or corrections or any of fixing of the tracks on this release.
Jackson is, at the moment, working on a tribute to Duke Ellington that is being recorded in Amsterdam, Berlin and New York (presumably not at the same time). That record will be out in 2012.
