he record is produced by Johnny K, a Grammy Award winning producer with an impressive resume. He has worked with Disturbed, Staind, 3 Doors Down and the Plain White T’s (although we will not hold that last one against him).
The first single from the record, Unraveling, was last time I was told, number 20 on the Active Rock charts. I admit that I do not have any idea what that means in the world of rock these days BUT it is certainly better than being at number 21. Someone will, I am sure, explain this to me at some point.
ANYWAY, keep an eye open for the record and the tour. If you know Sevendust you know this is not a pop record and that you are probably only going to like it if you are into rock. I recall a tinge of Industrial Rock in Sevendust? Feel free to correct me on this as well.
The band points out they all co-wrote the lyrics to the record. This adds a dynamic liable to confuse and confound the listener. Since they all wrote the songs, none of them are really sure what the hell they are about.
My dad used to tell a story about Robert Frost speaking where HE said he wrote poems and what you made of them was pretty much up to you (I am paraphrasing both my father and the great New England poet).
You can find out more on all this (except Robert Frost) at the Sevendust website.
