Eon Harrington, an Irish singer-songwriter based in San Francisco, is releasing a new record, Confess, and playing in Los Angeles at Hotel Café in support at 8 p.m. and Monday, June 20.
Harrington, until recently, was employed as a bio-tech chemical engineer, as his day job. He is, apparently, known for his live shows (or his press release says so). In the past year he has opened for bands such as The Counting Crows, The Fray, Natasha Beddingfield and Zach Brown. Digitalism’s first single from their new record is out. The video for the track, 2 Hearts, is below. The band’s full length, I Love You, Dude, comes out July 5th. We have mentioned this before. The band is also heading out on tour in the USA beginning in August. Tour

That track, Teenage Ziggy, is available for your perusal below. This is his tenth studio recording and his US debut and it will be available on June 21. The press release says the record came out in Japan and was met “with a mixture of critical praise and bewilderment.” That has me wanting to hear it right there. It is to be hoped there will be a USA tour but I saw nothing on that. Be sure to keep an eye open. More will run here if there is any news.
Nytt Pa Nytt Razika is a band made up of four Norwegian teenagers. There seem to be a lot of Scandinavian acts out there made up of teenagers. They also often make some pretty cool music. Kids do make good music. It is often the geezers who put out the crap. The record is titled Program 91.
The band name comes from a code word used by the girls to describe a cute guy. Ok, that does sound like teenagers doesn’t it? The music is a mix of all those genres that make girl bands great, ska, riot grrl stuff...You can check out the track, Nytt Pa Nytt (New On New). Perfect Darkness, the latest from Fink, hits stores and online July 19. The title track is on the band’s official website for your perusal.
Fink is Fin Greenall, who has written for a number of other artists in addition to making his own music. He has written tunes for John Legend, Ximenav Sarinana and Amy Winehouse. The second year of the Carnival of Madness is heading out at the end of the summer. Bands this year include; Theory of a Deadman, Alter Bridge, Black Stone Cherry, Adelitas Way and Emphatic.
The tour will consist of 25 dates, some of which are below and more are coming. VIP tickets for members of Theory of a Deadman’s Deadfan Club go on sale May 31. THEN those who have signed up for the Carnival of Madness mailing list get a crack on June 1. You can sign up HERE. The rest of you peons can get tickets on June 3. Why Can't We by Asa Asa, a singer from Nigeria, is releasing here second record, Beautiful Imperfection, on September 6, 2011. Folks in NYC and LA will get a chance to see her perform as well. Asa grew up in Lagos and, according to her press release, didn’t really think she could “make it.”
Her first record, released in 2007, became something of a hit. And here we are awaiting the next. Hear a track from the new record above and get out to see her in NYC or LA. Hopefully there will be further dates after the release. Anyway, the record release coincides with the first date at Bowery Ballroom. This tour spans six weeks and will be followed by a West Coast outing, which will be announced soon. You can check out a stream of the track, Gold and Yellow at Holland’s Soundcloud page.
