Cooper's linocuts often have a joyous quality (the gallery kindly sent me a collection of her work). This one has something almost sorrowful. The expression of the figure shows concern as the mythical Diana might for one of her charges.
Hammick's lovely woodcut landscapes are quite painterly and while he is an English artist these pieces truly seem American, not simply what the English see as American (even the print where the title indicates a non-American influence). Bravo Mr. Hammick! He is Senior Lecturer in Fine Art, Painting and Printmaking at the University of Brighton.
Naomi Frears was another artist we couldn't show our photos were not good enough to use (we were send nice pdfs). We plan to beg for an interview with the artist at a later point.
