Bleckner came of age artistically in the early part of the AIDS epidemic and his work often explores memory, change and loss. He was the youngest artist to receive a mid-career retrospective at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
Jensen, a Guggenheim Fellow, was born and studied in Minnesota and now lives in New York City. He is an abstract painter. His colorful works "relate to life without depicting it." The piece above is obviously abstract but when you look at it your mind may create the forms you want (or your subconscious wants) to see.
