Every year there is a fair that stands out a little over other fairs. This year it might be Untitled. There is also one piece of art that leaps out. This is, of course, going to be different for different people. For me, in 2019, the piece of the week was Webster's Last Horse.
The why of this isn't an easy thing to explain. There is something monumental and apocalyptic about it. If they uncovered an H.P. Lovecraft story about the horse it wouldn't be a surpise.
Webster is a British American artist living in Los Angeles. Her work starts with (or sometimes does anyway) with dioramas that she then paints as still life. It is an interesting way to paint, creating a little three dimensional reality as a subject.
