Kid Astray, from Oslo, have a new single, The Mess, out now. Rather than describe it to you I suggest that you just listen to it below.

Curiously this song was written, recorded, mixed and mastered in six hours. The song became the "Untouched Song of the Week" on Norwegian National Broadcaster NRK radio. I wish we had an "Untouched Song of the Week show here.

To find out more pleas head to the band website, www.kid-astray.com. Keep an eye open for videos, remixes and USA tour dates.

The band features William Faith and Scary Rose ( DJ Scary Lady Sarah) with Philly Peroxide and Mike Skull adding live keyboards/percussion and bass (respectively).

Keep eyes on the band website, www.thebellwethersyndicate.com, for updated info, live shows and HOPEFULLY new material.

Patrick Damphier plays in the band Field Days (he also plays in another band we mention a great deal, Mynabirds). It is a rarity a musician gets in touch who is in not ONE but two bands I actually like—well LOVE really based on what I have heard—so it seems appropriate to let all of you know about the Field Days website. Check it out HERE.

You can check out new singles and videos from Field Days at the site. This includes the first single, I’m With You, now. In FACT, Damphier sent me this information some time ago and I farted around and didn’t get it posted until now. Maybe it was because of drunkenness (mine not Damphier’s).  He will add stuff to the site in between tours with Mynabirds.

Jordan Caress, Terry Price, Eli Beaird, and TW Walsh all made contributions to I’m With You. There will be a contribution with Richard Swift soon as well.

I wish I had posted this earlier. Apparently at the band's recent Schubas show in Chicago they had to chase down a thief. I don't want any musicians whooping MY ass in an alley.

Sola Rosa, from New Zealand, are getting ready to release their Get it Together remix album and head out o tour in the USA (in July). The last time out the full band was not on hand. This time they will be. It all starts at the Victoria Ska Festival in Canada.

The remix record has 24 tracks from the group remixed by a variety of DJs (DJ Vadim, TM Tuke, Jeremy Sole and others).

Sola Rosa mixes latin, soul, fun, hip hop, reggae and Jazz into their music. Check out a link to a track below and head to the band website for more information.

The Presets have a new record, Pacifica, coming in September. Set for release on Casablanca (the record company not the Moroccan city) the release consists of ten new tracks. This is the band’s first new release in four years.

The last release, Apocalypso, set the world on fire--not literally..and it mostly set their homeland figuratively ablaze. It had five hit singles and was triple platinum in Australia (which means it sold 35 copies).  Seriously, one of the tracks, My People, was on the Australian carts for over 75 weeks.  They also won a bunch of ARIA awards (like the Grammys but good bands sometimes win).

Man, I am being sarcastic here. But I will say that I do like what I have heard from The Presets. I am just cranky.

For more info head to www.thepresets.com.

Sam Fogarino, drummer for the band Interpol (and his own mesmerizing project Magnetic Morning...which I think might now be defunct regretably) also has a website.

It is a blog site where he muses on drummers, art and the like. None of that "I ate potato salad for lunch" sort of posting you see on a lot of sites. I visit it with some frequency and so should you. The address is samfog.com.

While I am at it I should link to the Magnetic Morning Myspace page too huh?
