Camille Iemmolo's latest work, The Write Back Super Hero's Club, opens at The Proposition (2 Extra Place, NYC) on July 5 and runs until July 27, 2013. There will be an artist's reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013.

Iemmolo will appear at 8 p.m. (EST) Wednesday June 19, 2013 as a guest on our internet radio program, Constantly.Consuming.Culture with Patrick Ogle. You can tune in HERE.

Iemmolo, based in Chicago is a sculptor/installation artist. Her work always has a story behind it—personal but always something that is also universal. The Write Back Super Hero’s Club was inspired by the seeming death of letter writing.  Her own work began, in part, through written correspondence and this installation encourages those visiting to write down those unwritten words and include them in the piece (you will figure out how when you visit). Are words becoming extinct? Is communication? This piece poses those questions.

The Band Aid House At Play piece first appeared at Context/Art Miami in December 2012. It was one of the stand out installations at any fair during the week plus of exhibitions. Check out the video below for more on Band Aid House At Play.
