Photographer Dina Petrakis took the photos while Candice Martens and  with Gerald Ritchie curated the exhibit. Images of various vies of Humboldt Park over a year make up this exhibit. For those not in the Chicago Area, Humboldt Park is a large and quite beautiful park on the North (and slightly west) side of the city.

When I moved to the city for the first time a bike ride through the park might well have been your last bike ride. Now? Families picnic and people stroll through lovely gardens. Yet the area still isn’t gentrified to the point where people like ME cannot live ther!

You can see the exhibit at the Humboldt Park Boathouse, 1359 N. Sacramento in Chicago beginning on August 11. It runs through October 29. The gallery is open 6 to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays 1-4 p.m.

There will be an artists reception Friday, August 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. I
